Safe Drinking Water

During the 2007 dry season, the fresh water stream through the village dried and a treated water pipeline to Kuntu was delayed.  Nana Brebo was concerned.  KVNC-USA noted that concern to many friends of Kuntu and they responded.  Two large poly tanks were purchased and installed at the Kuntu chief palace to store treated water which was trucked into Kuntu.  In 2008, the government completed a treated water pipeline into Kuntu and the storage tanks are now supplied by the pipeline.  A few homes have metered water to their homes but most villagers still use water from the Kuntu water tanks for cooking but, like most people in Ghana, they purchase plastic bags of treated water for drinking.
